About Jeppe Mulich
I am a lecturer in modern international history at City, University of London. I have previously taught at the University of Cambridge, the London School of Economics, and New York University. My research focuses on the global history of empire and colonialism, especially in the Caribbean and in the Asia-Pacific. Most of my work deals with legal and political aspects of this history, including trans-imperial networks, sovereignty and jurisdictional contestations, resistance and revolution, and globalization as a historical phenomenon. Chronologically I am especially interested in the long nineteenth century, but with an eye towards longer trajectories and lasting legacies. I was trained as a historian and have broad interests in global history, historical sociology, and international political theory.
